Brave Browser cannot open any pages even help, extensions manager or settings

Description of the issue:
Every page I open in brave wont load but instead displays the error code “Error code: STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN” additionally all of my browser extensions crash immediately and cannot restart
How can this issue be reproduced?
This happens with every page I open including settings, extension manager and all other brave menus so i cannot go into settings to change anything that might be causing the problem.
Expected result:
The browser should work as normal.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
113.1.51.110
Additional Information:
I am using the latest version of Windows 10 64 bit and this problem began at the beginning of the month (01/05/2023) I have checked the crash reports folder and it is empty. If there is any further information such as logs, settings files I’m unaware of that would help anyone to diagnose and solve this problem I’d be happy to provide it.

Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features should have a ‘Version’ column.

Version Number 113.1.51.110

I am having the same issue, started a few days ago, same version: 113.1.51.110

On the advice of similar threads claiming that the extensions/cache/cookies needed to be cleared for the problem to resolve itself but being unable to access settings in order to do so I removed the \BraveSoftware folder from the directory C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local and the problem persists. I don’t know what else to do.

I have also had the same problem for a week, I tried to uninstall and download the latest version 113.1.51.114, but the installation still did not fix the problem.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the problem persisted between the uninstallation/reinstallation process. Thank for commenting and please let me know if you discover a solution.

To all experiencing this problem I have found a workaround by downloading the Brave Browser Beta from this address: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases?page=22
I had originally intended to see if the Brave Browser version using the 112.x.xx previous iteration of chromium would solve the problem but it persisted. Using the Beta of the previous chromium version seems to have done the trick which is good because I tried all the other relevant solutions I could find and none of them worked. I’ll let this thread run out since this is a workaround as opposed to a proper fix. If anyone does find a proper fix don’t hesitate to leave it in this thread.

I have the same problem but with the newest Version of Brave (114.1.52.126) (Windows 11)

While Browsing or watching Videos the Browser stops working and no other Site or Setting can be opened. Only think works is to restart Brave and wait until its happening again

I tried an complete new Profil and deleted myUser data + Extensions, i installed Brave complete new but nothing seems to work

I got the same issue, same error code. Its not a lack of RAM problem for sure, i got 32GB RAM free to use. Youtube will suddenly crash, like 2 or 3 times a day.

A little Update: I tested some of the Extensions i had installed and tested every Extension over a Time of 8 Hours and found that Return Youtube Dislike crashed my Brave. i had no more crashes since i removed it.

Dont know if it was only this Extension but i will test some more and report if its crashing again

Hello again I think I’ve found another solution.
The same problem as before recurred with the brave browser beta version I was using instead of the main brave browser release but the error message was different “Error Code: STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH.” as opposed to “Error Code: STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN.” as before. One of the potential fixes I found online suggested restarting brave browser in windows 8 compatibility mode which I did. The problem remained but the error code had reverted to “Error Code: STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN.” I remembered that Windows 8 compatibility mode had been pre-enabled and greyed-out i9n the properties of the main release of brave browser when I had tried this fix before. I looked for a solution to the new error code and found this link: https://textslashplain.com/2019/09/27/aw-snap-every-tab-crashes/ which suggested a fix for similar problems with edge and chrome. It recommends using task manager to close every instance of brave browser running then using the hotkey Win+R to open the Run app and typing “brave.exe --disable-features=RendererCodeIntegrity” to solve the problem. This solution worked for me and I also think I know what caused the problem in the first place; the two dates when this problem occurred coincide with dates that windows 10 security updates were installed. IN any case I hope this helps anyone experiencing the same issue.
