Brave bookmarks and password storage

If i cant recovery my brave configuration to, it was very nice ! :slight_smile:

Tanks for your help.

How will you get the data from your hdd? I suppose by putting it in in your computer again? If you do that: Why do you want to copy any files and folders to your ssd if you can just start Brave from your old hdd instead and activate sync? That’s probably a lot faster.

I try to put my old HDD and reboot mt PC but dost works i don’t understands why.
But i can convert my old HDD as an external HDD and i have access to my data.

@Rayd_o,
You’ll have to do this somewhat unofficially but I’ve used this method to help several users in the past with the same issue:

  1. Gain access to your old HDD (by any means)
  2. Navigate to ~/users/[your user name]/Local/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser and copy the UserData subfolder located here.
  3. Return to your new system with the SSD, navigate to the same file path as above and replace the UserData folder there with the one you copied from your old HDD.
  4. Restart your PC (just to make sure everything is fresh) and launch Brave

If all went well, you should now have bookmarks, passwords, cookiesand other browsing data on your new SSD. Please let me know if this doesn’t work or if any ofthe above is unclear.
