Description of the issue:
Windows 7 Pro. If I make Brave the default browser, no hyperlinks can be opened from Outlook. If I change default browser to Chrome or Firefox, no issue. Brave does NOT show as an available browser in Windows Control Panel → Default Programs
It is not in the list. I have associated htm and html to Brave, and it will show as available for those file types, but if I go to the http or https protocol entry in default programs, Brave does not appear as an option
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Make Brave the default browser from Brave settings (it is not possible to make it default program with normal Control Panel-> Default Programs because Brave is never listed as an available option.)
- Find an email message in Outlook that has a hyperlink - click it - error message
(If change default program back to another browser, everything works as expected.)
Expected result:
The URL should open in Brave
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
1.40.113 Chromium 103.0.5060.114 Official Build 64-bit
Additional Information:
Have tried reinstalling brave and a whole lot of other stuff. I see this problem all over the web in multiple places and no clear way to resolve it. I’ve used a different default browser for years because of this, but would prefer to use brave
