Brave 1.73.91 Beta will not download anything


Description of the issue:
When you try to download anything it does not download, get that there is an error “blocked by your organization”. Clicking on that error, states " your organization blocked this file because it didn’t meet a security policy".

How can this issue be reproduced?
Try to download anything.

  1. Navigate to website
  2. Click download link

Expected result:
File to download

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.73.91

Additional Information:
Windows 11 Pro
Version 23H2
OS Build: 22631.3880

We tried all of this, but none of this worked:

  1. Changing the download location
  2. downloading the BETA 1.74.10 version
  3. Brave://flags
  4. Disabling Antivirus, We use VIPRE
  5. Disabling all Extensions
  6. Just about every suggestion on these forums that applied to us.
  7. All of the AI Suggestions on Google
  8. All of the suggestions on other forums.

We have MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox installed and we can download from any of these Browsers without an issue.

We really like Brave, but not being able to download is annoying.

@Kenneth When it’s referencing policy, it’s that you or someone else enabled group policy. This could even just be from wherever you downloaded the browser if you didn’t grab it from https://www.brave.com/download-beta/

Do you see anything if you go to brave://policy/?

The above said, where dd you download Brave Beta from? And do you have Brave Release or Brave Nightly on? Curious if you have issues on either of those.
