Description of the issue:
I was doing a reinstall on my computer. I moved all the data files over to a separate hard drive that was connected to the PC. When installing Brave on a fresh windows install, the brave install managed to find the appdata folder I moved to the other HD and overwrote all the brave data there, including my old bookmarks and history.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Get a computer with a fresh install and backed up data on another hard drive
- Install Brave
- Check the system file time on the old back up files, they will now be new and updated to around the time of the brave install.
Expected result:
Brave Version( check About Brave): Latest as of 3/30/2022
Additional Information:
Keep brave install to the chosen path, there is no reason at all to install or rewrite it in multiple locations. Wack.
