Blocking 3rd Party Cookies Not Working

Description of the issue:
With “Block 3rd Party Cookies”, I still end up with lots of third party cookies (e.g. without directly browsing any of these domains: accounts[dot]google[dot]com, crazyegg[dot]com, addthis[dot]com, etc.). I wanted to try to specifically block these domains. The interface for this isn’t clear, but regardless of what I try, cookies from all 3rd parties are not being blocked.

I would expect adding google.com and [*.] to the block list would block all google domains but Brave is still allowing accounts[dot]google[dot]com cookies.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Clear all cookies.
  2. Add entries for blocking cookies from google (see screenshot)
  3. Configure shields to block 3rd party cookies.
  4. Browse to various sites that use google analytics (not google[dot]com or gmail[dot]com directly).
  5. Find accounts[dot]google[dot]com cookie.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
No cookies from google.com

Reproduces how often:
100%

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
MacOS 10.14.5 (18F132); Brave version 0.66.100 Chromium: 75.0.3770.142 (Official Build) (64-bit)
