Brave browser passwords: I noticed that password saved in my desktop, we’re not updated in my mobile device. Recently I went into my “Sync” menu and saw the following message next to the toggle switch, which was turned off, for syncing passwords:
“Before you can sync passwords, you’ll need to authenticate with your device biometric / passcode. This extra security measure helps keep your password safe.”
I do not want to put any biometrics data on any computer, or Cloud system, for privacy reasons. If that information gets out, I can’t do anything about it. It’s not like a password that could be found out by a hacker, then changed by the primary user, so that the hacker cannot get into the set account going forward. Once the Biometrics data is out there, there is no turning back on that. They now have me, and I can’t change me.
Does brave require me to submit my Biometrics data in order to sync my passwords? Do I have this right? How can I sync my passwords, without requiring personal Biometrics data that I don’t want out on the internet if it were released? Thank you!
P.S. - Brave should think twice about requiring this. I, and other users like me that value our privacy rights, will not support or use any product that requires us to capitulate our rights and freedoms. If someone wanted to get into my phone, they could simply cut off my finger, or take a picture of me, my eye, Etc in order to gain access to my device. This really does not stop anyone from obtaining access to my secure data that I have locked up in Brave browsers blockchain security system. Because of the blockchain security system, that’s why I chose Brave to secure my passwords to begin with. Thank you for listening.
