I’ve been using brave for a couple of years now and recently I decided to set up the BAT rewards but I noticed my country is not among the supported countries for custodial accounts. My questions are:
Are there any plans to include Nigeria to the countries that the custodial accounts serve?
In the mean time, how do I set up brave wallet to receive BAT rewards or is that not possible?
Thanks. I hope brave expedites the process. A lot more people will switch if it’s implemented correctly. We don’t need costodials that can’t operate in certain jurisdictions. It’s a new decentralised world.
In the mean time (while we wait for custodial services to include our country), what happens to the BATs that are earned? Do they accumulate, to be redeemed in the future when services are available or theyget cancelled?
@Chuck_D you only earn BAT while linked to something. So while enabled, you won’t earn.
If you didn’t read through the link I provided you before, I highly suggest you do so. If you had already applied for on-chain when I first replied, you would have received an invite and been earning already. So read through PSA: Current and upcoming changes to Rewards and Creators and apply for waitlist.
And if you don’t want on-chain payments, then you likely will be waiting a very long time. Brave is trending away from custodial accounts and more to on-chain payments. There are no guarantees when, or if, Uphold will expand to other countries for Rewards or if Brave will add other partners.
Indeed, and it’s the way they are going. Lots of fun things on the way for next year too.
Based on conversation the other day, they are pretty much approving anyone who applies right along. They just want the extra tier so they can control things. At this point don’t want to let the on-chain be a default option because they have to pay a fee to set things up and maintain each time. Not to mention if fully enabled then increases ability for abusing the system as people would just keep creating new accounts.
