Hello everyone.
Just recently I’ve noticed that there is a problem for my brave browser, maybe after latest update.
My current Brave version on Windows OS is: Version 1.78.94 Chromium: 136.0.7103.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I’ve noticed that my tabs are now and then discarding themselves, then when I reenter the tab, it is refreshing the content, instead of staying active all the time or/and loaded in the place I have left at.
I have already turned off all memory saver options, as I have 64GB of RAM and I assume this should suffice for my 10 open tabs that I want to have constantly active, however they keep going once in a while into discard.
Looking through similar issues I found out about brave://discards/ but those settings reset every time and do not allow me to turn off this option completely. I was also looking through inactive tabs options, asked Leo about it, however was not able to turn off this functionality completely.
I can technically on every start of browser go to brave://discards/ and mark all tabs to not discard, but that is quite troubling in longer term and I would like to have option to completely turn off this feature, which is not needed by me at all, as my machine should handle my tabs without issues.
Hence my questions:
- Is there any way to turn off discards completely, as I do not want my browser to discard my tabs at all?
- Is there any good workaround known to community, that is checked and harmless, possibly not extension based - which shares your data?
- Does Brave has in plans to make update allowing turning off discards soon?
- Is it possible to downgrade version of Brave/Chromium to get rid of this feature?
Thank you in advance
