I am visiting the following website (https://www.islamweb.net/ar/) in the brave browser. But if I change the Arabic font (there are 2 fonts, click on the A symbol on the upper left), the font doesn’t change and remains the default one.
I expect to change the font appropriately for the whole website.
OS: Window 64, Brave version: [Version 1.1.23 Chromium: 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)]
It works perfectly fine in Chrome and Edge (beta).

Can you show me what both text options are supposed to look like?
On my end, the page displays just fine and I seem to be able to swap between the two – but it’s hard for me to tell whether or not the change is taking effect. I get the same thing when testing in Chrome.
Here are the options:
The bottom image is the default. But if I choose the top font, it should be applied for the entire website.
In brave it remains unchanged:

Thank you for the details – I can now confirm that I see the same behavior in Brave as well. I noticed that if I disable Shields or toggle off Ads/Trackers, the site will then work as intended. I’ve reached out to one of our Shields engineers to take a a look. Appreciate your patience.

There is another issue I noticed:
In my android The buttons to select font don’t respond.
Do I have to open another thread for that?
