Briefly describe your issue:
Ads and Sponsored Images have stopped showing up. I haven’t seen a single Ad, or single Sponsored Image for over 24 hours and I am constantly on my browser working from home. It was working fine until yesterday morning and I seeing lots of crypto-related ads. But now - nothing. I have tried the usual advice multiple times, such as turning rewards on/off, clearing browser history, rebooting Mac

Yes the sponsored images have started showing again. I think they stopped temporarily whilst the active marketing campaigns swapped over, as they started back up again in a couple of days and I began seeing completely different ones. I am still yet to get the ad/notifications to work though, this is an ongoing issue which the support team are looking in to for me.
They are investigating it at the moment. But I do get ad notifications on both my iOS and Android phones, but not on my Mac which is strange. Sponsored images now works fine and I get those on all devices.
I can’t tell you. I’m waiting for a reply. But I do know that if you search the web for ads not working in windows, there are a tonne of videos for fixing it. Unfortunately not the case for macOS. I wouldn’t suggest you take any of the advice where they tell you to modify the actual files though, that’s asking for trouble IMO. Check things like your notification settings and time zones etc
I’ve had no problem with getting a reply from them, even if it takes a day or two. Just make sure you fill out the post using the template and provide all the information they have requested
Good (well not really) to hear it’s not just me then and it may be a problem across the board. I saw my very first notification the other day. Not a single one since… I get them all the time on iOS but rewards are not allowed on there.
@Deepak993635,
Based on the information you’ve provided, there is not necessarily anything wrong. Depending on a multitude of factors, you may see many ads one day and then none the next day – which is actually what you appear to be describing. That in and of itself is not an issue. Please read through ads documentation to understand how the system works:
@Nothadoth,
Apologies – I was zipping through threads like this thought he was the OP, thats my bad.
With that said, I would still say the same thing to you. As it says in the article linked above:
When Ads are shown The goal is to show you privacy respecting ads that are relevant to the user in the right context. This is done by “matching” an ad that is (ideally) catered to you based on your browsing activity (note that your information is always kept private - please see the FAQ for more information). The intention is not to make sure that all users simply “see some ads”. Enabling Ads does not guarantee that you’re going to see ads – if the system does not find a match for you in the ads catalog, then you may not see any until a match is found.
Further, given the above and the other various factors that determine what ads you can/will see (we will go over many of these factors later in this article) you may see ads appearing regularly today, but tomorrow you may not see any – and that’s perfectly fine. In this situation, it really is a feature , not a bug . We encourage you to keep this in mind before assuming that the feature simply “isn’t working”.
@Mattches If this were the case then why do I see them on my phones but not my computers. I search for the same things on all of them. I always get ads on my phones for things trading and crypto-related when in fact my mobile devices are the least used of them all. And I browse the same things on my work and personal macs, yet on the occasion when I do open up the browser on my iPhone there’s an Ad there for me almost immediately every time. They too are usually crypto or trading related, which tells me there are definitely active ad campaigns for this sort of browsing activity in my area, and again as I say, I am a lot more active in these searches on my Mac computers.
I’m convinced that there is an issue with the software running on Linux devices, rather than an isssue with my browsing activity or anything else to that sort - otherwise I wouldn’t see them on any of my devices.
Android + iOS devices === an abundance of ads.
macOS devices === never
