Hello, i saw that brave does not keep all historic.
And was wondering if there was a possibility for brave to keep all historic no matter how many years ? … do you know if that is possible ?
@ohsawa,
Thank you for reaching out.
Unfortunately at this time, there is no way to do this. Brave keeps your browsing history for the last 90 days of browsing. I do believe there are extensions that you can use that will track your history for longer, but nothing natively.
Thx for your reply… too bad it’s not possible
Adding a preference that would allow us the choice would be more than wellcomed
Okay then i have to look for these extensions … or change browser
@ohsawa It’s a privacy issue but also is important to realize that storing long history can also lead to a buildup of unnecessary data that can impact performance over time. That’s why most browsers, including Chrome and Chromium, limit how much history they store locally. In the case of Chrome, Google tracks and associates your data with your account, so that history is stored on their servers, not in the browser itself.
A better approach would be to use bookmarks for anything important you want to revisit. If you don’t mind me asking, is there a specific reason you need such long-term history?
(hi) yes i understand about the amount of cache data.
Cache which most of the time is stored into folders in the OS…
Mabe Safari wich i haven’t used since at least 20 years does that ?
(no bather at all), i’d love to have all history because indeed i do not automaticly make bookmarks and if one day i remember a name which i am sure to have done a search before on the web, this would really be helpful.
(EDIT) : Besides “alphabet, bing & co” really aren’t “our friend” anymore as now, we really have to dig for other results and that sometimes takes hours to get the right information.
Having there again all history would save me precious time because in normal life we may not automaticly save the link or make a bookmark, no matter the resons why : that occurs.
