90%+ Memory Usage

While I was browsing on Brave there was a huge memory usage increase that I do not know why that happened.

I had a couple of tabs open but I thought Brave used much fewer resources than other named browsers.

Hi @deanj,
Can you run through the following steps to see if this resolves your issue?

  1. Disabling Hardware Acceleration (You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration)
  2. Clear browsing data (You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> Privacy and security --> Clear browsing data)
  3. Restarting your device.

Also - please confirm your version number (brave://settings/help) and OS

I got Windows 10 for my OS and the current version number of Brave is

Version 1.24.86 Chromium: 90.0.4430.212 (Official Build) (64-bit)
]

As for the suggested fix the issue as apparently it was not something because of Brave but because of a background install that was going on in the browser that I forgot about!
