YouTube videos stutter in fullscreen

YouTube videos have started stuttering about every 5 seconds when viewed in fullscreen on an Android phone. The image will freeze for a second and then resume only to freeze again a few seconds later and the cycle repeats for as long as the video is playing in fullscreen. The issue only seems to affect the picture while the audio remains smooth and uninterrupted.
I have deleted the cache for Brave, I have updated Brave to the latest available version, and I have tried restarting my phone but these have made no change.

To reproduce this issue, go to YouTube.com and view any video in fullscreen mode.

Brave Version: 1.78.97, Chromium 136.0.7103.93

Mobile Device details: Android 13; Build/TP1A.220905.001

I have the exact same problem. The video starts freezing every few seconds. in full screen I hope they can fix it.

I’m having the exact same issue, I believe it started happening on my android device yesterday.

Edit: I think disabling Ambient Mode from YouTube’s playback settings fixed the issue for me for some reason.

i have the same issue, except its every video on every website. whether i open youtube, twitter or any other website with video content the entire website starts buffering and glitching

Disabling Ambient Mode does indeed seem to fix the hanging on YouTube. That’s one of the few settings I never even thought to try changing.
