Am I the only one facing this issue? I’d expect summarizing youtube videos is a frequent use and that more people would have noticed that it has been broken for the past few days. Could someone please check if it works for them?
FWIW this is still a problem for me in version Brave 1.79.119 (Official Build) (64-bit) Chromium: 137.0.7151.68 although now it only happens on YouTube, not on the Steam page I sent.
same, video summarisation used to work perfectly and now it’s just unusable; also the leo button used to lead to a sidebar window, now it goes to a new empty window. Why this change though? It’s destroying user experience.
For the button issue, it was recently changed not sure why but I saw it in the changelog. I’ve set Ctrl+L to open Leo and it opens it in the sidebar. You can set it from Settings->System->Shortcuts-Toggle Leo. I’ve also hidden the Leo button since it’s useless for me as I always keep the full Leo in a pinned tab so it’s one click away anyhow.
For anyone encountering this issue, can you please share what OS and Brave version you’re using when you see this? Also, to confirm, this particular issue is only occurring on YouTube? That is, asking Leo to summarize other sites and/or videos works as expected?
@Mattches I’m trying to experiment on this and it seems a bit random at the moment. One of the first things I tested was the recording from the Community Call that they uploaded, which is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiIwQhcNAFA and it seemed to get hung up and never did anything.
I say hung up or so because it had the stop button down by the text thing, it wasn’t the normal submit button. So it’s like it was stuck thinking.
But when trying on something shorter like the Spaceballs 2 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewKuhclROA0 it originally did a summary but when retrying as I typed this it didn’t work. I exited Brave, reloaded, and then once again it did the summary.
I’m about to have to test on my desktop as well but I went ahead and just checked rumble and it seems the same issue on iPhone where it doesn’t really say anything about the video
