Youtube playlist updation

While watching a youtube video, cannot add or remove the videos from/ to playlist as the menu doesn’t open on brave.
Path for the menu which is not opening on brave is Three dots menu> save

Screenshots attached. On clicking save the screen turns dull and the playlist menu doesn’t open

List doesn’t open on clicking ‘save’ (marked by blue arrows). Facing this on brave browser only.

are you facing the same as well ?

Not seeing this on my end – clicking Save does display the playlist options. Can you try opening a Guest profile, closing your original profile window, then logging into your youtube account in the guest window and test to see if you get the same results?

Do you have another browser you can test this on? Ideally a Chromium based one?

Yes.. working fine on all browsers except brave. (Screenshot from firefox is attached)

Cleared browsing data, uninstalled and reinstalled brave.. problem persists..

Hmmm interesting. Would you be willing to download the Beta build of the browser and test to see if you get the same behavior there?

Tried updating playlist on another PC, facing the same problem there too (only on brave browser)..

Is this a problem with youtube India then ?

That is very strange – my assumption was that this issue had to do with the browser profile you were using but if a fresh install of Beta is showing the same issue I wonder if it is a problem upstream with Chromium.

Would you be willing to download/test another Chromium based browser – Chrome, MS Edge, etc. – and see if the issue occurs there? This may help narrow the issue down and point to it being an issue upstream with the engine itself or if it is a Brave specific issue.

Having this problem only on brave. Works fine on Chrome, edge, firefox.. If you want I’ll upload screenshots ..

Going to ask some team members to test and see if they can reproduce the issue. In the meantime, in Brave, can you visit youtube, open dev tools (Menu --> More tools --> Developer tools), click on the Console tab, then try to open the playlist menu and share any output in the console here?

Surprisingly, the playlist option displayed correctly with developer options console turned on.

Now I have figured out that the google account I usually use has too many playlists. On that account when I click save, the playlist option doesn’t open on brave (problem only with brave). Whereas, the screenshot which I shared few mins back is from a different google account which has only one playlist (ie watch later) and that is opening fine on brave but the account on which I have multiple playlists (about 20 plus playlists) the option to save to playlist is not working correctly.

Thank you for the information. Yes this is all helpful, although I’m still unclear as to why the pop-up wouldn’t appear only in Brave. Going to reach out to a colleague about this.
