Youtube is preventing adblocking

Description of the issue:
The ad plays before the actual video. It looks like a regular video and cannot be paused. Brave does not block the ad. What can I do?

Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no)

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off? Yes

Does the ad appear when using a Private window as well? (yes/no)

What OS are you using when you see the ad? IpadOS 17.3

Brave version (check About Brave): Version 1.61.1 (24.1.4.20)

YewTube has been fighting back against Brave Shields. I had to upgrade Brave but recent issues with flickering windows made me downgrade it to version 1.62.147, and no issues with YT so far.

But how do you upgrade? App Store only has my version?

Which operative system are you using? Maybe visiting in github Brave releases you could download the last version and installing it.

@Firestar16Xx you shouldn’t be seeing anything. If you’re seeing ads, I question what your settings might be like. Within Brave’s Settings → Brave Shields & Privacy, do your settings look something like below?

And while you’re in the above, you see Content Filtering? Can you tap that and make sure to use the filters you see enabled in my screenshot below?

Last but not least, make sure when you’re on YouTube, the Shields settings for YouTube specifically weren’t disabled or changed. You get that by tapping on the Shields lion image icon and it will show menu like below:

If you have things like that and it still is showing ads, I’d like to ask you to clear cookies/cache. Also make sure to restart your device. Then check again.

I adjusted the settings and cleared cookies; cache. I also restarted my Ipad and then logged into my youtube account. After 3 videos without ads, the first advertisement played in front of the 4. video. Reloading the site makes the ad dissapear
