Wrong location in Brave desktop app

Description of the issue:
Desktop browser thinks I am located over 250 miles away from my actual location.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Launch Brave browser desktop app
  2. Clear all browser data/cookies and restart browser
  3. Go to maps.google.com
  4. Refresh location

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Google Maps shows me located in a public park in Nashville, TN, which is over 250 miles from my home.

Expected result:
Show my correct general location.

Reproduces how often:
Always. Location is never correct.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5039212)
Brave desktop version 1.67.119 Chromium: 126.0.6478.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

  1. Troubleshooting steps: I have tried enabling location settings on my PC, clearing cache and cookies, enabling location within Shields.
  2. Google Chrome works without any issues. I can go to maps.google.com and it immediately detects my correct location.
  3. Other sites that require location also think I am in Nashville, even after enabling location services for those sites.
  4. I talked to my ISP and they said they could not help.
  5. When I go to https://www.whatsmyip.org/more-info-about-you/ (even in Brave) the site correctly identifies my location based on my IP address.

Anyone want to simply acknowledge this as an issue, please?

I just started experiencing this yesterday on Mac OS. I really don’t want to do a reinstall. I’m using Brave BETA, but downloaded the stable version to check and it’s doing the same thing.
