I’m reposting about this issue because it hasn’t been resolved in over 4 months.
Description of the issue:
Attempting to login to https://us.battle.net on PC. I input my username and password and click ‘Login’. The window that says “Check your authenticator for request…” shows up but then it goes back to the login screen. I approve the request on my mobile authenticator but it does nothing for the login process on the browser.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Have the Battle.net mobile authenticator installed. Goto https://us.battle.net on PC and input username and password then click login. It will send a request to the authenticator app to approve the browser request to login. The window then switches back to the login screen without waiting for the approval to come in from the authentication app. Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Expected result:
Reproduces how often:
Every time
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 11 22H2 64-bit
Version 1.50.121 Chromium: 112.0.5615.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) Battle.net Authenticator version: 2.6.0.15
Additional Information:
Someone else posted about this in November but there was no resolution found.
@killertunes I’m going to set aside the other topic from November, as I don’t feel like digging for it. But also, situations change. So let me get you to try some things and share if anything changes or if the issue persist. Each point is a separate attempt. So do one, if no change, try the next.
Steps below will help kind of guide through to know if it’s an issue with cookies, extensions, settings, the Chromium package, or something else. So it’s all a good place to start.,
Try in Private Window
Create a new profile (don’t add extensions or change settings, try with default)
This actually seems like it might be a Shields issue. @killertunes while it’s likely only one specific protection causing this, can you please visit battle.net, open the Shields panel for the site (lion icon in the address bar) and toggle Shields “off”, then try logging in again and see if you get the same behavior?
You are wasting your time. They won’t fix this just like they haven’t fixed any of the other pages I posted about. Now they’ve taken away my ability to earn rewards without cause or reason. I regret trying to help this browser be more compatible.
@zulrang,
Can you please try this again after updating to the latest version of the browser? On my end now, with default Shields settings, I’m able to visit battle.net and login without any issue using both macOS and Windows 10 systems.
