i thought about this because brave is advertised as an open source browser then it might be on fdroid just like duckduckgo but it was not , can anybody tell why?
@simp5577 I’m guessing the answer from a few years ago is still valid for the moment. Just is a low priority, especially since Brave always has the APKs available through the Github if people want them.

For the same reasons Firefox which is also open source is not available in F-Droid.
Official Firefox has some proprietary bits, Pocket, widevine, certain search engines & bookmarks, etc.
F-Droid will ask them to be removed and of course Mozilla won’t. That’s why Fennec which is a Firefox fork and has them removed, is on F-Droid.
F-Droid will ask the same from Brave, to remove from it any proprietary bits, widevine, Brave Rewards etc.
Of course Brave is going to say no to them, like Mozilla.
