Why can't I add brave to Chrome browser?

Did you know that the instructions to install brave searchdon’t work on Chromium on Linux Mint? The stuff you tell people to do doesn’t exist. The link to manage search engines only opens the settings and there is not way to add brave. I’m removing Chrome since it thinks it is being smart by making it impossible to change my search engine from anything other than google, yahoo and some other BS.
