WebAuthn stopped working with v1.45.118

Description of the issue:

WebAuthn stopped working with v1.45.118, unable to login to sites which have security key setup.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Attempt to login to a site that requires FIDO2 WebAuthn using a security key such as a Yubikey.

Expected result:

Browser prompts for interaction with security key.

Additional Information:

Tested with Windows 11, Windows 10, and MacOS.


Seeing the same on 1.45.118. Yubikey no longer works.

Rolled back to 1.45.116 and Yubikey is working again. 1.45.118 does not prompt for pin before requesting touch.

can confirm, can’t login to Mailcow, Vaultwarden, etc. anymore using WebAuthn.
Forgot to mention that I experience these issue only on Windows (11), on MacOS Ventura it works.
Both running V1.45.118.

Latest version (v1.45.123) is working again.

Working here too using V1.45.123. But it required a reboot of the os, simply updating and restarting Brave didn’t work.
