Video Playback Keyboard Shortcuts don’t work on YouTube

Description of the issue:
I’m using a MacBook with Italian keyboard. I am unable to speedup or lower the speed with Shift+, and Shift+. shortcuts integrated in Youtube. I can only speedup the video with the > key but the reverse does not work. This is apparently a bug affecting most European Macbook keyboards and it extends to Chrome. There have been other people reporting this but so far it has not been fixed. Video Playback Keyboard Shortcuts don't work on YouTube

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Use a European Italian keyboard layout
  2. Try to use Shift+, and Shift+. as well as > and < to increase or decrease video playback speed.
  3. See if it works

Expected result:

Lower/higher video playback speed.

Yeah I do remember this issue. I will bring this up to the team but imagine this will have to be fixed in the Chromium engine upstream.
