US search results from UK

Description of the issue: I was having a regular search experience with Brave but when I needed to search for something I needed to buy, I noticed all the listings are in dollars and all the websites are in .com rather than .co.uk as usual. I naturally checked for browser VPN, my extensions, system/desktop VPN, settings for language and search are English (United Kingdom), anonymous searches are manually set to UK too, quick settings also UK, even the filters below the search bar are set to United Kingdom. I have no idea why all the sudden I’m having US results unless the browser is defaulting to the location of the system DNS address which is 1.1.1.1, assumingly in US.
