Unable to update to latest build

Trying to update from 0.62.51 to 0.63, getting the following error message: “An error occurred while checking for updates: The updater is currently running. Refresh in a minute to check again.”

Went to “About Brave” and tried to update

Got the above error message

Expected to be able to update to latest build

Reproduces every time I attempt to update

OS is Windows 64-bit, Brave version is 0.62.51 Chromium

Hi @scuba_tron,

Brave will try to update itself automatically in the background. This error mean that you try to launch the updater (by visiting brave://help) again when it’s already running in the background (to check the latest release).

You can try:

  • Restart your Brave
  • And browsing as usual
  • And let Brave update itself

Or:

  • Open brave://help
  • Open Task Manager and end task “BraveSoftware Update” process/es
  • Refresh brave://help page. It’ll initiate the update process again

For second one, it’s works for me in the past. But the first one should work well too. :slight_smile:
