When I click on a link from a particular and regular information email that I am sent from one website, I get a screen with the attached message button asking me to update cookie preferences. Clicking on the button has no effect. If I save the original link and use a different browser, the expected page appears without a problem. How can I make this button work so that I can use the link from this regular email?
I NEVER click on a link within an e-mail message. I ALWAYS copy the link and paste it into a text editor window, in order to see if the link is legitimate.
Clicking on links in e-mail messages, is the most common cause of “inadvertently” downloading a hostile/malicious script . . . especially to Windows OS machine users.
Such hostile/malicious links in e-mail messages, used to be called “Phishing Expeditions.”

Lucky you! That the click on that button, does not work.
Right-clink on the button (the link), and copy the link, and then paste into the text editory window.
Examine the leading part of the link. For example, let’s say that it is:
Copy the “some-place-not-familiar.com” part.
In a Brave Browser New Private Window, go to:
First, use the DNS Lookup tool:
Second, use the Blacklist Check tool:
The first test failed, because I chose a fake domain name to test — there is no DNS record.
The second test looks good, and that is an example of a good result.
Returning to the DNS Lookup tool, let’s try a legit domain name (“brave.com”):
Result is no warnings, no oddball destinations, and in fact, legit servers at Amazon.com, for “brave.com”.
These are legitimate links from job-search providers such as totaljobs.com. How do I adjust cookie preferences so that I can access the links? As it is, I go to a different browser and access the linked site.
