Typing immediately upon opening new tab garbles text

Description of the issue:

When opening a new tab and immediately typing, the text gets entered but the cursor gets put back to the start. For example, if you tried to type the word “Brave” immediately into a new tab, you would get “raveB” instead.

Additionally, if you wait for a second before typing, the search bar ends up not being selected. You then have to select it again before typing.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open new tab (CTRL + T)
  2. Start typing immediately
  3. See text with the first letter at the end

Expected result:

Text should be entred in the correct order. The search bar should also be selected by default.
