I believe Brave is one of the best, if not the best, browsers out there. However, it does have some minor yet significant shortcomings that, if addressed, could greatly enhance the user experience and interface. Below, I list the most important aspects that have caused me the most issues:
-
Avatar Icons
This is more of a refinement than a major issue, but it becomes important for users who, like me, use multiple profiles. The available avatar icons are few, standard, lack personality, and are monotonous. It would be nice to have the option to set custom icons to better distinguish profiles. Additionally, increasing the size of the profile switcher bar when selecting a profile would be helpful, as it’s an action performed repeatedly. A larger clickable area would make the process quicker and more convenient. -
Toolbar Customization
One of the most useful features I’ve encountered is the ability to customize the toolbar. It allows users to place certain icons, such as Downloads or Zoom, next to extensions. Having quick access to these commonly used tools directly from the toolbar would be a great improvement. -
Sidebar Navigation
I love the sidebar navigation, but unfortunately, the button to open a new tab is at the very bottom. To open a new tab, I have to scroll all the way down the vertical space. It would make more sense to place the “New Tab” button at the top, alongside the other tabs, for quicker access. -
Home Screen Layout
The home screen contains various widgets, but they are placed in awkward positions, leaving the central area (which should be the primary focus) completely empty. The search bar is at the bottom, while the favorites widget is in the upper left corner alongside telemetry data. Other elements are scattered on the right, while the middle is entirely unused. This layout forces users to move to the edges of the screen to interact with these components. Why not place them more centrally?
