@kylothecurious thanks for the details on your device. I am concerned because you’re using a version of Brave that has not been supported for over a year now. Brave version 1.45.123 was released in November 2022.
Could I get you to provide some more details on your situation though? For example:
What happens when you try to stream? Are you given any error messages? Blank screen? Does it spin? As much detail as you can give is always helpful.
If you open in a private window and try to watch there, does it work?
If none of the above, can you test in a new browser profile to see if it works there?
I have added the basic troubleshooting steps above and asked for more details just in case it’s something along the usual lines of issues causing problems. But the real challenge here is how old everything is that you’re using, especially as it dates back to a timeframe where Google was deprecating the type of Widevine used, such as you can read about at https://www.theoplayer.com/docs/theoplayer/faq/old-widevine-cdm-deprecation-notice/
When I go to “about brave” that’s what I get. I read a thread where someone suggested trying to download brave again. I tried that 4 times and got a “couldn’t be opened corrupt image” when I tried to open the file.
I followed the link you sent but the update for Mac doesn’t seem to be on the list. Maybe I am just not seeing it.
If you try to download from the main page it won’t work, because it will try to fetch the newest updates…which aren’t compatible with your OS. That then results in various messages similar to what you’re sharing on that.
If you just add that on top of your current (don’t uninstall), it should manually update you to the 1.57.64, but I’m still not sure if it would solve your issue…but it would be worth trying.
