Would be great to be able to whitelist sites we trust and frequently visit

You already can. When you visit a site and click on Shields, you’ll see the toggle that says something like Shields are UP for community.brave.com At that point you can hit the toggle to turn it off for that particular site. When you go to other sites, Brave Shield will still be on, but you can turn it off for that particular site if you wish.

Thanks for that @Saoiray! But isn’t that just session based so, for example, if I toggle sheild down for brave.com, the next time I open it I have to toggle off again?

Check if shield settings for spefic sites are deleted on exit.
