Search Engine cannot make default

Why can I no longer add my selected (not hard coded) search engine? After I install, no Make Default option, greyed out. Thank you.

I added Baidu as default with succes.

Same problem with presearch.org
Had to use their extension which takes over the search area.

This issue was solved here by removing the search engine from the list, performing a search on the desired search engine, then going back to the Manage search engines screen and selcting Make default
