Screen sharing in Google Meet

Description of the issue:
Can’t share my screen during Google Meet sessions

Translated: “your browser does not support screen sharing”

Expected result:

Every time

I have seen this problem solved by enabling the Hangout extension which AFAIK does not exist anymore.
Screen recording is enabled in System Preferences.
Works perfectly with Chrome

This extension does exist — you’ll find it in brave://settings/extensions

Please enable this option and test again to see if you are then able to screen share via Google Meet.

It does.

I got dumbfounded by the message that said that “this organization had transitioned to Google Chat and this extension is no longer supported”
