Brave has finally made an official announcement on ZebPay. You can read about it at the link below. Version 1.58 launched today and once updated, you should have access to ZebPay.
Update September 11, 2023
Just wanted to give a reminder to people of what I said in the original announcement, which is that Nightly is the testing and development app. I did hear back and it’s been said that we can expect there to be delays, since it’s just Nightly and we are still running through payout tests with ZebPay.
So if you don’t receive a payout this month after having been using it on Nightly, don’t panic. I’m not sure if it will pay out in the following or how they’ll handle it. But everything should be good once it lands on Release, which should be any day now. I know the release schedule shows it arriving around September 14 (originally planned for September 12)
I just wanted to post a small update that in the Community Call we had yesterday, it was advised that ZebPay should be arriving within the next two weeks. What wasn’t quite said but has been able to be tracked based on Beta is that ZebPay will essentially be arriving with 1.58 on devices. If things happen to land right on time, this would put the release schedule around September 12, give or take a few days.
Original Post:
It has been discovered that the new custodial partner is ZebPay, which will be starting for India only. They are still working things out and hope to have it up and running for testing soon.
Important to read:
I want to stress that last part. It is showing in Nightly but it’s important to remember Nightly is an incomplete version used for testing. If you go to jump over to use it, be advised there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to connect to ZebPay and nobody knows what issues (if any) might be experienced through the API. So if you go to use it, do be aware it will be for experimentation purposes. Otherwise I’d advise you to wait until it’s available in Release and there are official announcements on it. As always, Nightly may contain bugs that can result in data loss. So use it and test this at your own risk.
Not sure yet. I haven’t asked. It’s possible they have it there, but I’m assuming it will be whenever Brave officially announces it. Currently it’s just appearing in Nightly for the testing and development purposes.
I know we tried to ask Luke Mulks a bit about the new partner and he said still hadn’t gotten permission to discuss it. So we’re kind of waiting for official info before much can be said.

It was released by Brave but sometimes can be held up by Google before appearing. It should show up within the next 24-48 hours, I’m assuming. Not sure how long Google will take to make it available.
Im from India and I’ve updated Brave, restarted it, and yet i dont see a Zebpay option on the Main brave browser (Not Beta)
P.S.: its not even visible in my Beta
PSS: I created a new profile, selected Rewards Region as India and zebpay shows up. However I cant connect to zebpay in my original account
The image above shows Uphold and Gemini. However, in my India region account, it only shows Zebpay. I dont know why theres a distinction. I created both accounts in region India, and 99% of the time I dont use a VPN.
@MainframeSupertasker you will have to reset your Rewards. This would cause you to lose any vBAT you have but then would allow you to choose your country again and link then to ZebPay. You go to brave://rewards/ and hit Reset.
And for it to show US, it means you chose United States as your country. No idea why.
I have updated Brave Browser to 1.58, but it’s still showing my old login details of Uphold Wallet as logged out, now if I want to connect to my Zebpay account I have to refresh it and if I do so all my earnings will be lost and watched adds count will be reset to zero am I right, but what about my BAT which I have earned will I get it back or not
Shouldn’t be the case. If you had been connected to Uphold on the back end and earning BAT, payments should have been sent. Anything sent to your Uphold will remain there even after you reset Rewards.
When I mention having vBAT, we’re speaking of people who weren’t connect to custodial accounts and had been earning that BAT in 2022 and before,. back when you could earn without being connected.
If you believe there’s BAT in the browser that has not yet paid out, you can kind of confirm this at brave://rewards-internals where it links Rewards BAT and Uphold BAT. If it’s Uphold BAT, then that’s what you have in Uphold. If it’s Rewards BAT, it’s what is stored in your browser. You can also feel free to grab your Rewards Payment ID from your existing account and create a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 for them to help further.
@MainframeSupertasker nothing yet. I think they are waiting for at least the first pay period here for Rewards to see how it goes. As they feel more confidence in it, most likely will announce Creators. But that’s just my personal guess. I’ll provide official details as I hear anything.
