Problems not showing Ads

I installed Brave 2 or 3 weeks ago and in the first week i saw some ads. But since a week more or less i’m having troubles. I check the next link that was recomended by brave before i make this post but it doesn’t bring any solution:

The problem i think it cames because i’m using Windows 10 because i have the browser installed in my work computer (With this OS) and in a Virtual Machine (Windows 7) and the one in my vmware shows ads.

Does anyone has some information to check?
Thanks in advance for everyone.

EDIT: I may have a fix/guide (I was just about to give up , but decided to go at it one more time :slight_smile: …its an IT thing you know what it is LOL). This fixed my problem and especialy step 3 did! Could it be a good idea to create a sticky with solutions for this, since it seems to be a common problem which ranges from user error to clicking a few buttons on a script someone created or setting something in windows ?

The steps:
1. go to: https://www.bennish.net/web-notifications.html
2. click on authorise:
3. click on show, your windows 10 notification tray wil pop up
4. go to all settings, system , notifications and actions
5. now you will see “Brave” is there and should be switched on, if not do so.

I have never received any ads, yet on my phone today I already had 5. I’m on the latest version, checked the url posted in other solutions (to enable html notifications). Yet not a single ad shows up on my laptop.

I am very much a believer in a new and different internet when it comes down to ads and privacy, its not about the few cents its about the principle. If anyone has a good trouble shooting guide please post it!.

I did everything you explain and i continue without ads. I hope somebody in brave organization check if there is a solution but i didn’t see much explanations from them.

@Nando7789,
Brave Ads should work just fine on Windows 10 – can you try visiting the site linked below and prompting your browser to show a notification, then see if Ads begin to appear?
https://www.bennish.net/web-notifications.html

If not, we’ll need some additional information from you.

I tryed that page and it works for that page and also for Investing.com that i tryed today. But it doesn’t work for the Ads like ProtonVPN, NordLocker, etc that was the first Ads that i received in the past. Since 1 week and a half more or less there isn’t any ads for me.

I keep waiting for you message of you want to continue trying something else.

@Nando7789,
Can you tell me how many ads you see in the Ad notifications received this month section in Settings --> Rewards?

this is from my windows 10 PC. from my Windows 7 PC ths next one:

the double of Ads in one than in the other.

@Nando7789,
That does not necessarily mean that there is something wrong with Ads on your system. As it says in the troubleshooting guide:

The difference in wording may seem small, but there is a substantial difference conceptually. The goal is to show you privacy respecting ads that are relevant to the user in the right context (a “match” is found) – not to make sure that all users “see some ads” . Enabling Ads does not guarantee that you’re going to see ads – if the system does not find a match for you in the ads catalog, then you will not see any (more information on this below).

Further, you may see ads appearing regularly today, but tomorrow you may not see any – and that’s perfectly fine . In this situation, it really is a feature , not a bug . We appreciate everyone’s understanding of this distinction and implore you to keep this in mind before assuming that the feature simply “isn’t working”.

I’m not entirely convinced that you’re experiencing a bug or issue at this point. This would be different if you were not receiving any Ads, which is what your original post lead me to believe but it seems as though you are in fact seeing plenty of them, just not as many as you had expected.

As i explained in a message before, i have it installed in my work computer (With Windows 10) and in a virtual machine (Windows 7) since the same day aproximatly. But in the virtual machine the ads keeps coming while in my base machine it doesn’t came anymore. Does the OS make a difference?

A detail is that the Virtual machine is working over the other computer so the conection is the same. Another thing that cames my attention is that it stops showing ads at all when i install the windows 10 extension that i use for work on my windows 10 machine.

@Nando7789,
Can you tell me what Windows 10 extension you’re referring to?

Brave Browser 1.7 and above should mean this solution is no longer be required. Thanks, Terry

hello, I use brave for 1 month, but still no ad, and I activate all the notification, thank you

Windows 10 Accounts . Its difficult but sometimes ads appear and sometimes not. I could say that Ads appears between 20:00 to midnight, not earlier.

Best Regards
