Problem with the YouTube page, it crashes and the videos do not start from the beginning

Description of the issue:
Hello, I have a problem with the YouTube page. What happens is that when I click on the video, it stops and loads and the videos do not appear fluid from the beginning and that bothers me as well. I disabled Hardware-accelerated video encode in Brave://flags and it does not work either. I have the recorded video of my problem.

Cc: @fanboynz @Mattches @Saoiray I tag all 3 of you, please if you could help me solve this problem, thank you.

@Chocolate,
Can you please tap on the Brave main menu and elect to view the site in Desktop view and tell me if you get the same behavior when you try to stream a video?

@Mattches I also see the same problem Desktop View and the videos are still checked and loaded and the videos are not smooth

@Chocolate,
In the video you shared, I do see the casting symbol at the top — are you casting when you see this behavior? If so, do you also see it when not casting?

Additionally, can you please try opening another browser (ideally Chromium based), going to Youtube and testing to see if the behavior occurs there as well?

@Mattches Yes, I see it when I installed it, it started. and the videos started to hang on reloading again

Yes, I see it too.

I also tried it on Chromium-based browsers Chrome, Edge, Vivaldi, Opera and others. None of them worked. Except Firefox, it worked a little smoother for me 480p 720p

If the issue is present in other browsers as well as Brave, it’s likely not an issue specific to Brave. Have you confirmed that your tablet is fully updated?

@Mattches Yes, my tablet is fully updated. But the problem is that it is not running at 100% smooth. I am still the same as yesterday with the same problem. I just installed the Youtube application and it runs 100% smoothly without any problem. But Chromium-based browsers are terrible for me. Is there any solution that can guide me to get rid of this problem?

Does the current version of Brave and/or Brave Beta/Nightly work okay? I have an older Galaxy Tab S8+ which works well with YT

@fanboynz None of the 3 channels work. It still takes a while to load YT videos. It seems like it hangs on loading videos as shown in the screenshot above :arrow_up: I don’t know what to do. I would like some guidance on how to get out of these problems.

Not sure tbh, Does Chrome work?

@fanboynz in Chrome it doesn’t work either. and also Edge Vivaldi Opera doesn’t work

Maybe factory reset? I dunno. Are there any updates? which device is it / android ver

@fanboynz yes. I already did factory reset. and I reinstalled the brave stable app, Beta, Nightly and none of the 3 channels work.

I have everything updated my tablet is lineageOS 18.1
Android 11

Maybe try a different build or an older lineageos build (nightly maybe?), check the forums?

@fanboynz I’d have to send a tech out to change the software to a slightly older build and see if the YT videos run smoother

I posted it before in the lineageOS community but I didn’t receive any response.

@fanboynz I also downloaded an app to see how much RAM my tablet has and it’s 2 GB RAM, maybe that’s why it must be very slow so it runs more smoothly. And in the Youtube and Newpipe apps the videos run 100% smoothly and I have no problem.

Memory manangement not handled well with the browsers tested?

@fanboynz When I open the browser suddenly when I minimize or open a new tab or close it and open another browser again it seems to freeze and suddenly the browsers crash as if it is not 100% fluid. Most likely I would have to increase the RAM memory more so that it is 100% fluid and has good performance.
