Image results are consecutively poor in Brave search. I don’t wanna compare, but it’s not 1% relevant as the image results provided by Google! It really disappoints and disheartens me. I know that Brave is a privacy preserving independent SE, and it’s a little bit difficult to provide accurately relevant image results without collecting user data. But still there is huge difference of quality between Brave web results and image results.
From my experience, If you are a student or researcher, and you often search images for your work, like finding diagrams etc., Brave will not help you at all. (See the screenshots)
As @289wk states, the specific search terms used may help provide different or better results.
That said, it’s important to remember that in addition to the privacy/data collection aspect of Google’s search engine, Google Search has been around for about 27 years. It has had a long time to refine and tune the engine to be what it is today.
We are always working to improve and enhance our products, like Brave Search, but it will take time and hard work to catch up to other services that have been around for significantly longer.
