The Brave browser is a love-hate relationship for me. It gives me good privacy and performance. But the UI is horrible. For example, if I want to open a new privacy tab from a favorites when I’m browsing on a regular tab I have to perform the following steps:
Tab op the tab icon on the top right of the screen.
Tab on the private button on the bottom left of the screen.
Tab the + button in the middle bottom of the screen.
Tab on the bookmarks/favorites button in the top left of the screen.
Select a favorite.
Imagine doing this on an iPad 12”.
Why don’t see the Brave developers and UI designers not that this is a horrible UI!?
@collie-fuel have you not thought of long pressing? Whether it be on your Dashboard, websites, or bookmarks it all works the same. Hold down and context menu appears and you choose to open in private tab.
Hi Saoiray,
Thank you for your response. A long press action should not be the answer to a not well thought through UI design.
My concern that I gave is about having to go all over the screen form left to right and top to bottom in order to achieve a what should be a very simple task. My opinion is that the Brave UI team really needs to rethink the UI and make it so that a user can easily use an application. Not with long press work arounds but with a well thought through UI design. This will absolutely improve the quality of the Brave browser.
