Passwords Gone and New One Won't Stick

Description of the issue: A couple of weeks ago all of the user names and passwords saved for sites that require them disappeared. When I log into Web sites manually inputting username and password, it still asks if I want to save them, but on the next visit they haven’t stuck and I still need to log in manually.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. It happens on all sites that I go to that require a UN and PW
  2. Interestingly, it also happens in other Chromium based browsers I have installed.
  3. It isn’t a problem in Safari

Expected result: Is there a way to reset this feature and bring it back? I tried toggling the feature off and back on in Preferences with no success.

Additional Information: I have a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) processor: 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory: 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Storage: 1TB/600GB free macOS 10.4.6 Mojave
