On tab closing, browser randomly picks a tab to be active

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

When I close a tab, the active tab refocuses either to the tab al the way at the end of the row on the right, or the previous active tab, or a random tab. It does that same tab several times in a row sometimes, then switches. I can’t figure out a rhyme or reason to it, except that it started after the last browser update.

Expected result:
On tab closing, active tab should the next one to the right, unless it’s at the end, in which case it should be the next one at the end.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.25.68 Chromium: 91.0.4472.77 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Right now I’m on the same platform as yours and I get expected result as you’ve described. But I think I did face something like this in the past when active tab used to refocus to previous active tab (it got solved on its own, maybe with an update) but your case is strange indeed.
