New Tab Page customization option for Brave Stats not functioning in Beta

Description of the issue:
On New tab page customization, Show Brave Stats switch does not function.
Brave Stats are shown while the switch appears to be in the off position, clicking on the switch does nothing as if it is non-functioning.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. open the new tab page
  2. select the customize menu
  3. try to uncheck Show Brave Stats

Expected result:
Brave Stats to be hidden on new tab page

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.44.83 Chromium: 105.0.5195.102 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)

This just happened to me. Releasev1.44.101 106.0.5249.65 (Sep 27th, 2022)

I’m on Version 1.45.75 106.0.5249.65 now and it appears to be fixed
