Can't change New Tab Page layout

I want to change the New Tab Layout
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Happens whenever opening a new tab

Version 1.19.86 Chromium: 88.0.4324.96 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I can see in Brave Settings that there are 3 options for the New Tab - Dashboard, Homepage and Blank Page. Dashboard and Homepage each allow customizing with background image etc. I am unable to do any customization. I just installed Brave today, 1/21/2021 so maybe I am missing something. The New Tab Page defaults to the picture I have attached. Thanks for your help in advance.! Screenshot (27)|690x347

Edit: I live nowhere near Fort Myers so not sure why that city was chosen

Looks like it was manage by an extension. No?

If it is managed by an extension, the extension does not show up in my extensions list. When I installed Brave, the New Tab Page defaulted to this. Here is the address that shows up in the address bar:

I would really like to know how to make it so that when I open a new tab, it’s just a blank page or customizable by me.

You can set the New Tab Page behavior via this setting. Doesn’t work?

And this should default to Brave’s Homepage. :man_shrugging:t2:

When I click on the circled icon, the screen flashes and then the new tab opens as this - https://search.myweatherradartab.com/?&cid=kbgjbpddgbobnkfdoejkcnleiiadlnfh&ap=undefined&adprovider=undefined&i_id=weather_2.2&page=newtab&uc=undefined&uid=undefined&source=undefined

Very frustrating as I agree the new tab should default to the Brave Homepage.

I uninstalled the latest version and downloaded and installed an earlier version. Now the New Tab defaults to the Brave Homepage. Problem solved I guess.
