Google and StartPage handle AND, OR, NOT (-), and EXACTLY (""). These are a sine qua non for efficient searching, but I can find no indication that Brave does.
If that means you will enable Boolean Search, then YES, DO IT.
If I cannot search for exact strings e.g. āexact stringsā or exclude sites e.g. fakebook, abc, nbc, msnbc, fox, nytimes, et al then I may as well let google spy on me.
Is there any movement on this? So far Brave Search is the best non-tracking search engine Iāve found, but the fact that I canāt precisely control my search results is a huge downside, and keeps me from recommending it to others. Would love to hear this will be a feature soon!
Over a year since we heard from @Support @GreenBananaPorridge so I guess holding your breath is NOT a good idea.
I seriously cannot believe users arenāt screaming for this functionality. I keep searching for āBrave search modifiersā (~once per month) and canāt find anythingā¦ Surely Iām simply overlooking it.? There are ZERO search modifiers in Brave? I thought it was built on Chromium and therefore would have the same search modifiers as Chrome.? I guess notā¦
@apwkdtb - With you, that makes a total of four people that want this. Ming boggling isnāt it?

Just set up a brave account to inquire about this. I also think it would be coo if dorks or boolean worked.
Yep, definitely need boolean. It is a necessity. Also only created account to request this
