Moving from APT to flatpak

Hello everyone, I would like to install Brave via Flatpak, replacing the one installed with apt (on Linux). Does anyone know how to do this without losing data?

@Rob009 if you go to brave://version you’ll see a lot of info, one of those is Profile Path. If you do a backup or copy/paste of the User Data folder from that, you should then be able to replace the User Data on new installation (do it before you open Brave) with it and have your bookmarks and all.

As for passwords, you would have to make sure to Export Passwords from password manager just to be safe, as I’m not sure if anything would be recognized differently and the encryption can be a pain. It might be included with User Data and be fine since same OS, but just better to have some sort of backup just in case.

I do also want to make sure you’re aware that Flatpak is unofficial and not maintained by Brave. You can see that notice at https://brave.com/linux/

Thank you very much this solved basically 99% of my problem!
