Losing Sync When Windows Updates & Sync Code changes By 1 Word

Description of the issue:
Losing Sync When Windows Updates & Sync Code changes By 1 Word- both happen at EVERY update. I lose everything - its almost as though I’m opening BRAVE for the 1st time, every time I update Windows. I lose all of my settings (including my rewards, extensions, bookmarks, wallet & various other settings).

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Accept Update notification from Windows
  2. PC updates
  3. PC restarts
  4. Open Brave
  5. Discover all extensions and bookmarks are MIA
  6. Panic that I cannot perform my job
  7. Try to use the most recent version of the Sync code that was issued within the last week/week & a half
  8. Frown with disappointment with the realization I have to wait until the following business day to be able to access the only other device on the sync chain to get the newest sync code
  9. Enter the newest sync code (which is only changed every time by 1 word)
  10. Get my butt back to work because all is right with the world.

Reproduces how often:
Every update from Windows Insider Preview

Brave Version:
1.58.127 Chromium: 117.0.5938.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)

This shouldn’t be happening I suppose.

This happens every 24 HRs to add a safety layer.

Do you have anything you run that is supposed to clean your computer? Things like Avast Cleaner or CCleaner? It’s sounding like something is erasing your folders. Just is a question of what you’d have running that would be erasing everything like that.

Not that I’m aware of. I don’t have any of those programs- the most similar would be my Vipre, but the closest option in that program that is similar to what Ccleaner/Avast Cleaner is their Secure File Eraser under the Privacy section, but that’s just an option I can perform when I right click on something.
