Description of the issue:
When Brave is open, all mouse movements are “jerky.”
That is, if the mouse is moving horizontally or vertically across the screen, it would periodically stop and I’d have to lift the mouse to begin movement again.

This is NOT just in the browser.
It also happens in other applications.
(I have a 3-monitor system.)

Closing the browser solves the problem across all the other open software as well.

How can this issue be reproduced?
(The problem is intermittent, but happens multiple times per hour.)

  1. Open Brave
  2. Browse for a while and use other software.

Expected result:

Hello @DaveSchwReno

Thank you for reaching out and I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. Could you kindly use guest mode to see if the issue persist?

You can open a Guest Window by going to Main menuOpen Guest window

If that works try disabling your extensions to see if this is the cause of the issue.

You can open a Guest Window by going to Main menuOpen Guest window:

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. At the top right, click MenuMore toolsExtensions.
  3. On to the extension you want to remove, click Remove.
  4. Confirm by clicking Remove.

Let us know if that helps!

Thank you for your reply.

Questions

  1. Should I wait until the problem arises again before turning off extensions?

  2. Can I disable them instead of removing?
(I have about 20 extensions enabled.)

  3. Would it seem logical to disable one at a time to see if it fixes the problem?

  4. Because this is an intermittent problem, going through these one at a time will be very time consuming but possibly the only way. The good news is that if one change doesn’t fix it, (theoretically) that means it wasn’t the culprit.

  5. Below are my extensions.

Considering that the problem centers around the Mouse, I think that would be a logical place to start anyway. (I admit that I so-wanted to say that this would be the “Logitechal” to start. LOL)

Special Note: A couple of months ago I replaced that mouse (with another 510) thinking it was the problem.

There WAS A DRIVER CONFLICT and the driver was updated.

When I saw that it did not fix the problem, I went back to the old mouse.

Perhaps I should just concentrate on the mouse itself first?
Specifically, when the problem comes up again, I’d like to:
A) Remove the Logitech extension.
B) uninstall & reinstall the mouse.

Your thoughts?

Just realized that you asked me to go to GUEST WINDOW.

That would entail me actually working in Guest Window - potentially for hours to make it happen.

That’s just not possible. No links, no shortcuts, no toolbars, no logins.

You may already have tried but fyi I have a similar operating system and use the 510 mouse but not 3 monitors.
I do not use any extension for the keyboard or mouse and I do not have any issues with scrolling.

Thank you.
Seriously doubt it is the monitors.

At this point I have removed the Logitech “Smooth Scrolling” extension.

Still having the issue.
Next I will remove one extension at a time until something fixes it or I run out of extensions.
