Description of the issue: So, I recently was modifying and testing something in CSS via inspector-stylesheet and all of a sudden it got… Locked?? I don’t know how else to explain it.
I can create a new inspector-stylesheet and I can modify it in the elements section of the DevTools panel, but when I go to the source it’s not letting me delete or write anything else in there. I can modify other stylesheets, it’s only the inspector-stylesheet that is ‘locked’.
This is only happening in Brave Browser, as I’ve tested in other browsers and couldn’t replicate the issue.
*Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): Right click on page and open Inspector (Or use Control + Shift + C), Add a new style rule, go to the source (inspector-stylesheet), try to modify it there directly in any way.
Actual Result:
Expected result: “Unlocked” Inspector Stylesheets.
Reproduces how often: All the time I make a new Inspector-Stylesheet.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
- Microsoft Windows Version 24H2: 26100.3775
- 1.78.94 Chromium: 136.0.7103.60 (64 bits)
Additional Information: Thanks to the advice of a some kind redditors, I tested to see if it might be an extension interfering but it wasn’t (as the issue is still present in incognito mode), I cleared the overrides and workspaces and that didn’t have any effect, and Brave is updated to its latest version.
I’ve restored defaults and reloaded, cleared the browser cache and cookies, turned off any experiments that were turned on, and checked the overrides and workspaces again to see if that might be the source of the issue (it wasn’t).
