Last Pass Extension Session Timeout

Description of the issue:
At least as of Brave Version 1.28.106 Chromium: 92.0.4515.159 (Official Build) (64-bit), the LastPass extension will work as expected, you can log in, us the password management tools, but will automatically log you out after 5-10 minutes saying the session expired. This was not an issue until the last Brave update. Now it should be noted that LastPass doesn’t officially support Brave, so I ran the same test using Chrome Version 92.0.4515.159 (Official Build) (64-bit) and it is not an issue on Chrome itself, it is only when using Brave. I checked the extension settings and set it to have no session timeouts or automatic logouts upon close of the browser, same behavior.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Add the LastPass extension.
  2. Log into LastPass using the extension.
  3. Wait 5-10 minutes. LastPass will state that your session timed out.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
No session timeout after 5-10 minutes.

Reproduces how often:
Consistently since last update.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, v 10.0.19042 Build 19042
Brave Version 1.28.106 Chromium: 92.0.4515.159 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

@thatJCguy,
Can you go to lastpass.com, open the Shields panel, and change the Cookies setting to All cookies allowed? Then test and see if your session still times out in this same way.

Done. I am testing now and will reply with results.

Same result after allowing all cookies and trackers.

@thatJCguy,
Can you click on the extension itself, then Extension preferences and ensure that you do not have a time limit set to log you out here?

That’s how it has been.

I don’t think it’s a Brave issue. Seems to cover various browsers. I would post for guidance in the r/lastpass reddit
