Keeps opening old taps

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Youtube keeps opening to the last video I watched on startup
  2. Browser keeps opening to old tabs on startup
  3. Even after opening “youtube.com” by manually typing in address, browser will automatically lead me to old video page.
    (Setting is “open the new tab page” on startup)

Expected result:
Open empty tab on startup, and Youtube stays on homepage without automatically change into last opened video.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave 1.67.123 Chromium: 126.0.6478.126 (Official Build) (64-bit)

@avomayo Let me ask a few questions and get some clarity.

  1. To make sure I’m understanding, you’re saying you completely exit Brave and when you open it up, the very first thing it does is go to an old YouTube video?

  2. You show how you have the setting for Open the New Tab page selected, but what do you have set for your New Tab Page? You see this at Settings → Get started

  3. If you hit the new tab button image while Brave is open, does it also go to YouTube?

  4. Are you using any extensions?

  5. Which exact OS are you using?
