I am experiencing a problem with logging into my Google account on the Brave browser. When I log in with my email, I remain signed in as long as the browser is open. However, once I close the browser and reopen it, I am logged out and need to log in again.
I would like to know if there is an option to remain constantly logged in to my Google account on Brave, so that I don’t have to log in again every time I restart the browser. I have already tried adjusting the cookie exceptions and ensured that the “Forget me when I close my browser” option is unchecked. I’ve also searched through forums and attempted various solutions, but nothing seems to resolve the issue.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in solving this problem, as I am very satisfied with your browser and would prefer not to switch to another one due to this issue.
The greater risk, is in leaving a computer’s Internet browser that remains logged in to a secure website. You might return to the computer on which, you left an Internet browser connected to and logged into an important financial website . . . and discover THAT was the opportunity used by some hacker.
Not wise to leave the keys in the car, nor leave the house doors unlocked.
@civonelez,
Would be helpful to know what OS you’re using when you see this, as well as whether you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time?
Just so we’re all on the same page here, this is likely an issue caused by something going on in your browser profile or system. There is nothing in Brave that prevents you from staying logged into Google (other than the settings you mentioned previously) after closing and relaunching the browser.
Another test you can try is to create a new/fresh profile (Menu --> More tools --> Add profile) and test the behavior when using the new profile (that is, log into your Google account with all the appropriate settings configured, close the browser and relaunch to see if you’re logged out).
