Intermittent frequent freezing of the Browser window

Description of the issue:
Brave Browser intermittently freezes up during use. Latest update as of yesterday didn’t fix the problem. Seems to have occurred after a recent past update possibly as much as 3 updates past since I update usually the day an update is reported. I can still move the browser window when it happens and exit but it doesn’t seem to want to allow any activity inside the window.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
I can’t - it just happens but seems to happen after a subsequent tab is opened off of one of my bookmarks.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

n/a -as there is no different look to the screen it just sits still.

Expected result:
not to freeze up.

Reproduces how often:
I can’t but this problem does happen daily for me.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
I’m running on the most recent Linux Mint through the most up to date VMWARE player.
Linux Mint 20.3
VMWARE WORKSTATION 16 Player - 16.2.2 build-19200509

Additional Information:

What are your settings under brave://settings/system, brave://settings/getStarted, brave://settings/clearBrowserData and brave://settings/cookies?

Specifically, do you use hardware acceleration, do you allow background apps to continue when Brave is closed, do you you continue where you left off, and do clear cookies and cache when closing Brave?

I will add that in my experience using Brave on Linux VMs has never been smooth.
